FREE BUSES
Make the journey part of the fun
Tauranga City Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council are making it easy to travel sustainably and get places easily, with free buses.
The Zespri AIMS Games aren’t just about what happens on the field or court. Travelling together with Baybus is a chance to share the excitement, connect with other teams and build team spirit before the next game. Plus, it saves time and keeps everyone moving together.
Heading to one of the Opening Ceremonies? Skip the traffic and take advantage of the free Park and Ride service.
Simply Park at Blake Park or Gordon Spratt Reserve, then jump on the bus and enjoy the ride with your team and support crew. You’ll be dropped right at the doors of Mercury Baypark Arena – no parking stress, just an easy trip to the big event and back again.
Capacity is limited, so if you want to use the service, please register early to help ensure you get a spot.
From Monday, 7 September to Friday, 11 September, free Loop Buses will run every 30 minutes between key venues in Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa, stopping at:
Pilot Bay
Mount Mainstreet shops
Blake Park
Baywave
Mercury Baypark
Gordon Spratt Reserve
Hop on and off as you like while travelling between venues, if you have time take the opportunity to explore the beach and vibrant Mount Maunganui shopping precinct.
Athletes, coaches and referees can ride the Baybus urban network for free across Tauranga during the Zespri AIMS Games. Simply show your Zespri AIMS Games app to the driver to ride for free.
Getting to your venues couldn’t be easier – just check out the Baybus urban map to see which routes will take you where you need to go.
You can also visit baybus.co.nz to plan your journey.
(Please note, parents and family members are not eligible unless they are a coach or referee. Buses accept cash or Bee Card).
